New Chair and Vice-Chair for Acare
The new Advisory Council for Aeronautics Research and Innovation in Europe (ACARE) held its 2nd meeting on the 28/11/2011 in Brussels.

The General Assembly (GA) warmly welcomed and approved Mr Tom Enders, President and CEO of Airbus as a Chair and Mr Peter Hartman, CEO of KLM as a Vice-Chair.
Other high level personalities are likely to join and help them to steer ACARE and it is anticipated that their appointments will be agreed later this year.

The Working Groups preparing the elements of the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda have reported accelerated progress. This is intended to be a key document for aeronautics and air transport in the next European Commission Framework Programme 'Horizon 2020'.

The next General Assembly is scheduled to meet on 28/03/2012.
